Medicare and Tri-Care
Martin’s Point Healthcare also administers two health plans:
Generations Advantage Plans
This is the largest Medicare Advantage plan in Maine. Martin’s Point offers a variety of plans designed to fit many healthcare needs and budgets. Generations Advantage is one of the few 5-star plans in the country with the highest rating. The 5-Star plans are available statewide in Maine and New Hampshire.

Generations Advantage Prime (HMO-POS)
HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations) have their own network of doctors, hospitals, and other providers who have negotiated fees for the services they provide. This is their most comprehensive plan. It includes:
- Complete hospital, medical, and Part D prescription drug coverage in Portland, Maine
- Low copayments for in-network services
- POS (point of service) benefit covers certain services from out-of-network providers
Generations Advantage Select (Local Preferred Provider Organization)
LPPOs cover certain counties within a state. This plan offers a lot of choice and flexibility. The Select plan covers:
- Complete hospital, medical, and Part D prescription drug coverage
- You can go to out-of-network providers for all covered services. You have the option to pay less if you stay in-network.
Generations Advantage Alliance (HMO)
This HMO provides complete in-network hospital and medical benefits with a $0 premium. It doesn’t include Part D prescription drug coverage. This is a great choice for supplemental benefits if you already have prescription coverage through:
- TRICARE
- Veterans Administration
- Employer plan
Generations Advantage Value Plus (HMO)
This HMO plan provides in-network coverage plus:
- In-network hospital and medical benefits
- Part D prescription coverage
- Low monthly premiums
Generations Advantage Focus DC (HMO SNP)
This Special Needs Plan is designed for individuals living with diabetes. It includes:
- Complete hospital, medical, and prescription drug coverage
- $0 copays for in-network, diabetes-related specialist visits
- Extra coverage through the Part D coverage gap
- Enhanced care management
This plan is only available in Cumberland County.
Military Benefit Plans
The U.S. Department of Defense gives military families choices that include the Martin’s Point U.S. Family Health Plan (TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Young Adult Prime) offers high-quality, affordable coverage for military families and retirees in:
- Northern New England
- Upstate New York
- Northern Pennsylvania
- Vermont
U.S. Family Health Plan (TRICARE Prime)
This TRICARE Prime plan is available for active-duty family therapy in Portland, Maine, and military retirees (up to age 65) and their dependents. Along with many extras, it includes these important benefits:
- Comprehensive prescription drug coverage
- A broad network of local civilian physicians
- No copays or deductibles for in-network preventive services
- Annual eye exams, physicals, lab tests, prenatal and postnatal maternity care at no extra cost
